Kumba Mi Yabba, the annual Christmas Fair staged by the Jamaica Business Development Centre (JBDC) has always focused its energies on showcasing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Gift & Craft, Fashion and Food Industries.
While these sectors will still hold pride of place at this year’s event scheduled for December 21-23, at Devon House, the embracing of a new industry will take the annual event to another dimension.
The JBDC will present a Wellness Village dedicated to pursuing a healthier lifestyle. The village will feature health-inspiring presentations by Wellness Professionals on topics including; Stress Management, Living a Healthy Lifestyle and Healthy Alternatives. Additionally, some lucky patrons will experience the healing power of a touch or scent through Teasers which will be provided by different organizations.
The JBDC will this year reintroduce the Best Booth Competition, in addition to presenting a series of demonstrations in each of the villages. Food Demonstrations will be hosted by local chefs, while a Mega Fashion Exposé is planned for Saturday, December 22, to feature internationally acclaimed models with fashions from some of Jamaica’s leading connoisseurs.
The Craft Showcase will highlight some of the best pieces in Wood Craft, Painting, and Ceramics, while Gift and Home Accessories will demonstrate Valance and Cushion Making. There will also be demonstration for Jewelry and Crochet making as well as Screen Printing.
Children aged 12 and under, will not be ignored as a vibrant Kiddies Village featuring, Rides and Giveaways, Face Painting and Story telling among other activities will be in the mix.
