
In september 1956 IBM launched the 305 RAMAC, the first computer with a hard disk drive. The monthly charge for 305 RAMAC was $3,200.

This is what the inside of it looked like.

The HDD weighed over a ton and stored 5MB of data. Here's one being transported.
