The forest is a tree

You are looking at a tree. Thats right. Singular. One tree. Not a grove, or a forest, a tree. And only a part of the tree at that!!! What you are looking at is a Banyan Tree, "Ficus Benghalensis". Called the "Walking Tree" in its native India, its massive root support system seems to "walk" away from the tree as it grows. This particular tree is the centerpiece of the Edison Estate in Ft. Myers, Florida. When it was planted in 1925 it was only 4 foot tall and two inches in diameter. Today it reaches a circumference of 400 feet.
