Interesting Aquarium

If you like aquariums, this one just might float your boat.I don't know that it's the longest aquarium, and for sure it's not the biggest, but it is pretty unusual, don't you think? I bet the fish like it!

I wonder if they have some sort of system figured out for cleaning? And how the heck do they keep the water from pouring out over the tops of those smaller aquariums? Where is this place, anyway? It looks like some kind of a coffee house.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!

The staff of a Japanese aquarium took pictures of a rare frilled shark, after it was discovered by local residents at Awashima Port in Shizuoka, southwest of Tokyo. This prehistoric shark is rarely seen alive as its natural habitat lies up to 1,280 metres (4,200 feet) deep under the sea.

The Fish Spa

Here's something interesting, the “fish spa”. In Japan, and other fashionable hot spring resorts customers are receiving "fishy" treatment. The client soaks in water stocked with small fish that nibble on their skin, removing dead cells and reportedly clearing up skin conditions.

A True Fish Story

This was a pretty interesting story from The Sunday Wichita Eagle Newspaper.

A resident in a nearby housing development, saw a ball bouncing around kind of strange like in the development's pond and when he went to investigate.

It was a flathead catfish who had obviously tried to swallow a child's basketball which became stuck in its mouth.

The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive, but unable to because the ball would always bring him back up to the surface. The resident tried numerous times to get the ball out, but was unsuccessful.

He finally had his wife cut the ball in order to deflate it and release the catfish.

The catfish survived the ordeal, and swam happily away.

An Undersea Restaurant

These are photographs of Ithaa, the unique undersea restaurant that opened at the Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa Rangali Island in April 2005.

The following pictures show it being lowered into the water.

Ithaa means "pearl" in the local Dhivehi language.

It is a tiny restaurant, with seating for only 12 people.

It offers diners a "spectacular underwater view of colorful fish, sharks and other sea life in the surrounding coral reefs through curved, transparent acrylic walls.

The cost per person for dinner ranges from $187 to $220.
